Simsville was an unpublished town simulation game that I worked on around 2001. It started out as SimCity Lite, a more casual version of SimCity, but later became more related to The Sims since that was doing so well at the time. It had an interesting illustrative quality we got by using toon renders, and then mapping those textures from the camera point of view onto low-poly geometry. Because of that, the camera could rotate just enough to give that world a rather neat 2D/3D quality which I'm not sure I've seen in games before or since.
